This track was recorded as part of the International Make Music event on June 21st 2018.

Inspired by Terry Riley's minimal masterpiece 'In C' and how it presented an accessible and melodic form of making music much like a jigsaw puzzle, MK's Programme Manager visited a number of MK sessions to record different elements that were then pieced together to form 'In C'.

The only 'rule' was the recording had to be in the key of C and at (approximately!) 90 BPM. As well as making recordings we were also sent recordings that are Workshop Facilitators had made in their sessions and with their service users.

In total their are 31 performers in this piece, the youngest being four years old, the oldest in their 70s and living with dementia.

We feel that this piece of music represents our vision of group music making; with time, support and facilitation it is possible for anyone to make a meaningful musical contribution.
